CHARACTERS The Next Reunion is written for five characters with doubling of roles. However, it can also be done with nine or ten actors and actresses. JAKE MCCROSSAN (romantic lead) is the consummate nice guy who was incredibly shy in high school. He has grown up to become charming and witty. CRAIG FISHER (comedic lead) is a charmingly annoying character who is trying to outrun his past. In high school he was incredibly immature, making up non-flattering nicknames for all the girls.
BETSY WAGNER (romantic lead) is an attractive and witty young lady. She is also trying to outrun her past, as she was a “goth girl” in high school. She must be able to sing. EMILY HARRISON is the organizer of the Mt. Gretna High School 10th Reunion. She is a type-A personality with great attention to detail. LISA is the organizer of the Butler High School Reunion. She is overly-perky and extremely animated. She is also a bit of a ditz. ANNIE is the organizer of the Williamson Academy Reunion. She is very businesslike and skeptical, but is capable of showing compassion. MR. PATTON is a beloved high school English teacher who is not much older than the students he teaches. He is funny, intelligent, and witty. ROBERT is a gay man who openly displays his sexuality. FRANK is a bona fide nerd. MIKE sees himself as God’s gift to women. His approach to girls is chauvinistic and demeaning.
